Yuan-Heng Mao is a social historian of middle period China. His current project investigates how the literati networks in Jiangxi were transformed from the thirteenth to seventeenth centuries, the time when Mongol rule and the Ming regime reconfigured the cultural elites on both local and national levels. Yuan-Heng is also interested in utilizing digital methods in historical research.
