VLP Director Binh Ngo Delivers Keynote Address at 3rd International Conference on Vietnamese and Taiwanese Studies

The 3rd international conference on Vietnamese and Taiwanese studies was held at National Cheng Kung University in the City of Tainan, Taiwan, on the 12th, 13th and 14th of November, 2016. More than one hundred scholars from Australia, China, France, Germany, New Zealand, Taiwan, UK, USA and Vietnam participated in the conference. The Vietnamese delegation was represented by fifty scholars from the major universities and research centers of Vietnam. Among them there were leading authorities in many fields of social sciences and humanities. It was one of the largest conferences on Vietnamese studies held outside of Vietnam.
Binh Ngo, Director of Harvard’s Vietnamese Language Program, gave the keynote address entitled Teaching Vietnamese to Chinese-Speaking Learners. The papers delivered at the conference will be published in the Journal for Vietnamese Studies which is managed by the Center for Vietnamese Studies at National Cheng Kung University.
