Patrick Chimenti

Patrick Chimenti received his M.A. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Colorado Boulder with a focus on interwar and postwar Japanese literature, particularly the literature of trauma. His previous research has centered on the work of writers including Abe Kōbō, Takeda Taijun, Noma Hiroshi, and Sakaguchi Ango. He has also done extensive research on the postwar Japanese avant garde and Japanese postwar literary circles. His current research interests include Japanese intellectual history, the role of art-making and media in the formation of political ideology, and the expression of historical trauma in literature and media.
