Sujin Elisa Han entered the History and East Asian Languages Ph.D. program in the Fall of 2018. She received her M.A. from Regional Studies East Asia at Harvard University in 2018 and her B.A. in History from Barnard College in 2015. Her research examines the development of a skilled/technical workforce in South Korea over the course of the country’s changing economic landscape from the 1940s onwards. Sujin is also interested in the role of foreign aid, international/local organizations, and the Korean government in facilitating the movement of people and knowledge across South Korea, the United States, and different areas of the Pacific. Her broader interests include the history of decolonization in East Asia/Asia Pacific, capitalism, and migration.
