Wenxin Xiao

Wenxin Xiao's research focuses on the social and cultural history of late imperial China. She received a bachelor's degree in History and Data Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in RSEA from Harvard. Her previous work includes a senior thesis on the development of newly established frontier schools during the early Ming dynasty, which incorporated digital mapping and text analysis, and a master's thesis on uxorilocal marriage as a flexible socioeconomic and cultural strategy in late imperial China. Wenxin's broader interests center on the use of digital humanities methods in historical inquiry, particularly for analyzing spatial, textual, and genealogical data, as well as exploring applications of generative AI.
