Hans Kristoffer Andersen Graff works on the literature and media of modern and contemporary Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. He is particularly interested in how writers and other artists try to present and represent an ever-changing local and national memory, community, and history. More broadly, he explores questions concerning nationalism and localism, memory, emotions and sentimentality, subjectivity and identity formation, and Sinophone studies. He received his MPhil from the University of Oslo, where he worked on the Xie Bingying’s writing and rewriting of her autobiography.
