Cathy Shen studies the poetry and literature of the Six Dynasties, Tang, and Song China. She is particularly interested in the evolution of poetic form through times of sociopolitical and cultural transition across the Middle period. Her research aims focus on the formation of poetic genre, histories of dissemination and reception, and interactions between vernacular and court poetry. Cathy received her B.A. in Comparative Literature, with a specialization in Chinese Literature, from Yale University in 2017.
